Williamsburg, VA: June 2016

Monday, August 1, 2016

When I went to visit Josh in June, we had originally planned to go to Virginia Beach on Saturday.  We headed in that direction and ended up hitting major traffic.  I pulled out my google maps app which said there was massive traffic and it would take us about 2 hours to make the 45 minute drive.  It was already almost 11am at that point, so we figured it would be a wasted trip.  We turned around at the closest exit and headed back towards Newport News.

We spent way too long trying to figure out what we were going to do.  We were trying to find TNMT 2 in theaters, but no one had any times that we could make.  They were all super early and we would have never made it.  How dare they - they obviously don't understand the nerd life.

Anyway, we eventually decided to just go to Williamsburg and walk around.   It really is a small world because while we were looking around one of the stores, we ran into one of the guys who works for a contractor at our site.  He and Josh worked together and played golf together a few times.  He was there on vacation with his family and we ran into him totally by chance.   We spent the rest of the time wandering around with no real agenda.  We'd been to Williamsburg before so this little trip was mainly just to pass the time.   We ended our day with some shopping at the local shops before heading to Newport News for dinner.
