This month I discovered Netgalley and have mostly been reading Netgalley books. I have about 15 waiting to be read and I want to get through them and up my reviews so I can get more books :) I'm finally starting to get caught up on my Goodreads challenge and my ABC reads challenge.
Secrets to the Grave is the second Oak Knoll book, I read the first one last month. I enjoyed this book but not as much as the first one. This book, like the first one, was written in multiple points of view, which I liked. However, I just felt like there was way too much going on. I caught myself having to go back and make sure of things that I've read and it threw me off a bit. What I did like was that I wasn't able to guess the killer until closer to the end. I'm usually pretty good at figuring it out so I always like when an author stumps me. I'll definitely be reading the third book in this series because I enjoyed reading the first two.
I gave this book a 3/5 on my GoodReads.

This is the third book I've read by Debbie Macomber. All of them have been Christmas novels and I have loved all of them, including this one. It was light and fluffy with just the right amount of cheese. I absolutely loved the characters and the idea of killing someone with kindness. I was completely engrossed in this story and finished it in two sittings. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading more of Debbie Macomber's Christmas books.

When I saw this book on Netgalley I thought it sounded pretty interesting. It was good and I was really in to the story, it was hard to put down and I finished it in a day. I really liked all of the characters and I feel like all of them were very three dimensional. I feel like every character had a purpose. I also like that there was a bit of mystery to the story, I'm good at figuring out what is going on and I found myself second guessing who I thought "dunnit". What I didn't like was the ending. I feel like everything happened so fast and a lot of things weren't explained. I feel like the last 20 or so pages should have been more like 50-70 pages. However, I did find out that there is a sequel to this book, told from Ethan's perspective, so maybe things get resolved in the next book. I really enjoyed this book so I will probably read the sequel at some point.

Lets be real, when I saw this book on Netgalley, the main reason I requested it is because of the dog on the cover. I had mixed feelings about this book. I liked that it gave a very real look into hoarding and how it affects not only the hoarder but the families as well. I have a family member who hoards and it's definitely not an easy thing to deal with, especially for those who have to live with the person. This book was a bit more ... intimate, I guess, than the books I normally read, but it wasn't enough to ruin the story for me. My main issue was that I didn't really think that Sarah was a well developed character, her personality seemed to be all over the place. I did like Zac and I honestly, I really loved that he wasn't willing to part with his dogs for a girl. Overall, this book was enjoyable but not fantastic.

I guess I need to stop requesting New Adult books on Netgalley because they seem to basically be book porn, which I'm not really down with. This book was OK, I liked it but I didn't love it. I liked the characters, especially Quinn and Kat. I think I would have enjoyed this more if we'd have known more of Cassidy's past and what happened between her and her Mom, it really annoyed me that it was never explained. I also feel like the story got a bit wordy at times and didn't flow very well. If you're looking for a quick, predictable romance, this would be for you.

I really loved the first 80% of this book. I love the futuristic aspects and the mystery and I loved that I really couldn't get a handle on what the bad guys were doing and why. What I really didn't like was the "love story" part of it, which came more towards the end of the book. It was extremely sudden but also basically nonexistent. It was weird. However, I did really like the twist at the end, I totally did not see that coming! I wish this book were a bit longer and that some of the themes were explored a bit more, it has a lot of potential. If you can get past the super weird romance part of the story and you like a bit of a mystery, I think this book is worth reading.
